Library at Bloomfield
College seeks practicum/internship students to assist in weekday evening, and
weekend, public service efforts. Fall semester 2017 at Bloomfield College ends
16 December.
Bloomfield College is
a Middle States-accredited, masters-level institution of about two thousand
students, fifteen miles from NYC. Academic divisions: business, creative arts/technology,
education, humanities, natural science/mathematics, nursing, social/behavioral
science. Over 50% of Bloomfield students identify as first-generation college.
Participants will be
based in library reference/circulation desk area, assisting with both
functions. They will liase regularly with library director regarding theory and
practice of academic librarianship. They also will work on a forward-thinking
project that streamlines Bloomfield College library public service functions.
Practicum/internship
is unpaid and can either be not-for-credit, or can be administered for-credit
at student’s home institution, in accordance with home institution logistics.
Regardless, before beginning practicum/internship, applicants must pass a
Bloomfield College background check and provide to Bloomfield College proof of
insurance.
