INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
The ARF has been the standard-bearer for unbiased quality in research on advertising, media, and marketing since 1936. The ARF’s member base includes alarge array of companies across the advertising and marketing ecosystem.
The ARF Knowledge Center is seeking an enthusiastic intern to help support a
team of experienced business librarians with knowledge management, secondary
research projects, and administrative duties as needed.
• This is an exciting opportunity for library students to gain professional
business experience in a supportive learning environment.
• The position calls for a meticulous but creative problem-solver, who is
organized but flexible to handle fast deadlines and last minute requests.
• This is a paid internship at the rate of $20 per hour for graduate library
students.
• The typical work schedule is 10am to 6:00pm; but we can work with you to
accommodate your school schedule.
• However, the intern is expected to work out of our Manhattan office, and
come in least 2-3 days a week.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Currently in a graduate program for library and information science;
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills;
• High proficiency in computer and secondary research skills;
• Knowledge management and taxonomy skills a huge plus;
• Working knowledge about media, advertising or marketing a plus.

Digital Archive Intern, Practising Law Institute (Manhattan)
Digital Archive Intern
Practising Law Institute ("PLI"), an innovative leader in legal education programs and services, is
searching for a Digital Archive
intern to join PLI for an 8-week internship program this summer. PLI’s client
base includes a large array of prestigious law firms, corporations and
government agencies.

for a Master's in Library Science student or graduate to gain
professional business experience in a supportive learning environment.

Summary
The Legal Information
Services and Electronic Publishing department is a team of librarians who are
responsible for the strategy, creation, and ongoing development of PLI PLUS,
our online research platform. This department also supports customers with
training and sells publishing products to law schools and manages their
accounts.
The Digital Archive Intern
will contribute to the PLI PLUS Digital Archive Project by assisting in our
efforts to expand the electronic availability of our published back catalog.
What’s more, the intern will gain experience in digital archives, research
databases, and electronic publishing.
Responsibilities include:
• Locating eBook files and/or generating them via an automated generation process
• Evaluating files for completeness,
• Performing basic XML cleanup
• Managing eBook components using PLI’s content management systems
• Deploying eBooks to our online research database, PLI PLUS
• Assisting with other projects as needed.
Qualifications and
Requirements:
• Qualified interns must be enrolled in an MLS or MLIS program. Recent graduates of relevant programs may also apply.
• Must be available to participate in the program the full 8 weeks, beginning June 10th and ending August 9th.
• Must have the ability to work Monday – Thursday from 9 or 9:30 am – 5 or 5:30 pm plus shorter day on Friday.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Some intern assignments will require familiarity with department-specific software.
• Must have the ability to provide recommendation letters from school and/or previous employer.
• Will be required to provide documentation of academic record displaying a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Overview
Practising
Law Institute (“PLI”), an innovative leader in legal education programs
and services, is searching for a small team of enthusiastic interns to
join PLI for an 8-week internship program this summer. PLI’s client base
includes a large array of prestigious law firms, corporations and
government agencies.
This
is an exciting opportunity for students to gain professional business
experience in their field of interest in a supportive learning
environment.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SUMMARY
The internship program will begin on June 3rd and end on July 26th
in our midtown Manhattan office. This is a paid internship at the rate
of $16 per hour. A typical work schedule will be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
(including an unpaid one hour lunch break), Monday through Thursday, and
9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday. PLI closes early on Friday during the
summer months.
Our
internship program will offer students the opportunity to learn,
perform tasks and take part in projects that relate to their academic
majors.
Below is a brief description of the departments seeking interns and corresponding internship assignment:
- Accounting
The Accounting department maintains financial books and records.
Internship Assignment:
Responsibilities
include revenue recognition processing in NetSuite, preparing and
entering journal entries, account analysis, preparing vendor request
forms, reconciliation and assisting with the creation of the Accounting
procedures manual. Strong Excel skills are required. Accounting or
Finance students preferred.
- Business Analytics
The
Business Analytics function supports the Executive Leadership team by
reviewing data, assessing workflows across departments, recommending
process improvements and business strategies based on analysis.
Internship Assignment:
Responsibilities
include market research, data analysis projects for business cases, and
financial analysis. This intern will be working with PLI data in Excel
to categorize information and formulate templates and outputs that will
help inform business decisions. Note: This position has a part-time schedule of approximately 19-25 hours per week.
- Information Technology (Two Opportunities)
The
IT department evaluates, recommends and implements technologies as well
as performs maintenance and upgrades/updates on software operating
systems and databases in the PLI offices.
Internship Assignment for Digital Products:
Responsibilities
include assisting with user stories and research, light design tasks
using Sketch, use of google analytics for analyzing current site
performance, data entry, project management tool support, supporting
research that will support buildout of an Android App, collaborating
with and providing support to the IT team. General interest in product
development and product design is required.
Internship Assignment for Product Management:
Responsibilities
include collaborating and providing support to our analysts, engineers
and designers on projects as needed, helping with data mapping and
validation, verifying application functionality and usability,
monitoring analytics and participating in development projects in an
Agile environment. Students studying Information Systems/Technology or
Computer Science preferred.
- Legal Information Services and Electronic Publishing
The
Legal Information Services and Electronic Publishing is responsible for
the strategy, creation, and ongoing development of PLI PLUS, our online

Responsibilities

with multiple support groups, supports enterprise customer accounts.
Internship Assignment:
Responsibilities
include assisting with daily Salesforce data uploads; auditing activity
by all Salesforce users, ensuring data is maintained and special
projects as assigned. The ideal candidate for this position has previous
experience working with large data sets. Strong excel skills are
required. Previous experience using Salesforce and SQL is strongly
preferred.
- Publishing
The Publishing department is responsible for publishing three types of products: Treatises, Answer Books and Course Handbooks.
Internship Assignment:
Responsibilities include cite checking, proofreading, editing and research. Second year law school student preferred.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Qualified interns fall under one of the following categories:
- Rising senior college undergraduate
- 2019 college graduate from an accredited undergraduate program
- Current law school student
- 2019 or recent law school graduate
- Must be available to participate in the program the full 8 weeks, beginning June 3rd and ending July 26th.
- Must have the ability to work Monday – Thursday from 9 or 9:30 am – 5 or 5:30 pm plus shorter day on Friday. Some intern assignments may have varying schedules.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Some intern assignments will require familiarity with department-specific software.
- Some intern assignments will require current attendance at law school, completion of law school, or graduate studies in a particular field.
- Must have the ability to provide recommendation letters from school and/or previous employer.
- Will be required to provide documentation of academic record displaying a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
