NYCEDC Records Management Internship
Title of Position: Full-time Records Management Intern
Department: Records Management
Job Summary: Under direct supervision, interns will have the opportunity to work with information professionals who are dedicated to developing and maintaining all processes and procedures related to NYCEDC’s Records and Information Management Program. The internship will provide hands on experience with organizing and preserving information related to real estate transactions, bond issuances, incentive agreements, construction projects and other internal intellectual capital. The intern will perform ad-hoc projects, assist with day-to-day records and information management processes/procedures, and respond to requests for information from NYCEDC staff under the supervision of the Records Analyst(s) who are responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, data accuracy, and enforcement of NYCEDC’s Records and Information Management Program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize and maintain hard-copy records onsite within the NYCEDC’s records management application, including the labeling of boxes and file folders
• Process archive boxes for transfer to offsite storage facility
• Respond to employee requests for files and/or information
• Audit data entry and circulation information as needed
• Follow standard operating procedures and communicate potential efficiency enhancing ideas to the Records Manager
• Perform ad hoc projects
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a college or university
• Internships require an applicant to receive academic credit for the internship - it is the applicant's responsibility to set up the internship with their school.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel required)
• Self Motivated
• Detail Oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Abilities required:
• Ability to lift a 15-25 lbs. box
Availability
• Minimum 30 hours per week, flexible schedule
