Assessment Intern, Col U Libraries, CUNY-Queens (Queens)

Position Description for Columbia University Libraries Assessment Program Intern: 
 
The Columbia University Libraries Assessment Program Intern will learn how to plan, design, develop, facilitate, and implement collaborative library assessment initiatives, and take a supporting role in fall assessment projects, which involve both quantitative and qualitative methods. This position will work with the Assessment Librarian, and collaboratively with the library staff at all levels.
 
Depending on the types of initiatives that will be launched in Fall of 2016, the responsibilities may include:
· Providing support for gathering and analysis of data in support of evidence based decision making and other overall library assessment initiatives.
· Assist with usability testing, surveys, focus groups and other user-centered assessments.
· Assist with responding to statistical requests, provide, and analyze data from library systems, the library’s website and other online data sources.
Requirements: This position requires an interest in learning quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods and advanced skills in Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, data visualization/charts/graphs, advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP, etc.)
 
This is an unpaid internship that must be used for credit toward a Master's Degree in a Library Science program. All students must be currently enrolled.
