Newsweek/Daily Beast: FALL 2012 LIBRARY SCHOOL INTERNSHIP

The Newsweek Research Center in New York City has an exciting internship opportunity for one student for the Fall session.

The Research Center uses leading-edge information technologies to deliver research to our editorial staff in offices in New York and around the world.
Under the supervision of the Senior Information Specialist, our intern will learn to index our online cover image database, help file and organize our newspaper, magazine and microfilm collections, and contribute content to our popular Newsweek archive Tumblr blog.  There is also the opportunity to assist with news research.

Requirements:  completion of at least one reference or online searching course and currently matriculating in an MLS program.  Candidates should review their program's requirements for internship eligibility (e.g. credits needed) before applying.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, interested in current events in a fast-paced news environment and is seeking experience, under supervision, in the research process.

INTERN MUST BE AVAILABLE DURING REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS.

THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP TO BE DONE FOR ACADEMIC CREDIT.

If you are interested, please send resume and cover letter, including library school courses you've completed, to:
