P/T - Museum Internship - Rights and Permissions Group/Department of Digital Media of The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC)
The Rights and Permissions
Group/Department of Digital Media of The Metropolitan Museum of Art is looking
for current college seniors and graduate students who are interested in
applying for an unpaid internship for the spring 2015 semester. Under the
supervision of professional staff, interns will gain first-hand experience by
cataloguing digital content related to the museum’s intellectual property, and
participating in special projects.
The Rights and Permissions
Group is responsible for the oversight and management of all copyright
information in the Museum’s digital asset management system, and establishing
metadata standards and requirements for cataloguing of relevant digital assets
within the DAM.
We are a very busy department
and can offer a variety of work for anyone intrigued by an alternative library
experience.
The spring Internship
will be from mid-January to mid-May. Standard internship requirements
would be a minimum of at least two full days (14 hours) per week during
business hours. The department is only open Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00, and
closed on the weekends.
Interns will be eligible for
employee discounts at the Museum’s public restaurant, Membership Dining Room,
the Museum’s retail stores, and free admission to all other New York City
museums.
If interested in applying,
the deadline is January 5, 2015. All materials should be compiled by the
applicant and mailed together and include the following:
•
