P/T - Academic Library - The Burke Library at Union Theological Seminary (Manhattan)
The Burke Library, one of 21 libraries in the Columbia University system, has an exciting new internship
opportunity available!
Gain valuable hands-on experience in management and administration!
Under the supervision of the Library Director, the intern will assist with management and administration
tasks and projects, including collections management projects.
Tasks:
● Assist with routine administrative tasks.
● Search titles in CLIO, Columbia’s online catalog.
● Barcode and prepare materials for transfer to other library locations.
● Determine resources needed, obtain stakeholder buy-in, set and meet milestones, and complete
other aspects of project management.
Internships are unpaid and may be taken for credit through your school. Interns are asked to commit or at least 10 hours per week within Monday – Friday, 9am -5pm.
Qualifications and Skills:
● Must be currently enrolled in a master’s program.
● Excellent oral and written skills.
● Organizational and office skills and experience.
● Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
● Attention to detail.
● The ability to work collaboratively and independently.
