The New York office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP is seeking a Library Intern
to join us for approximately 20 hours plus per week for a short-term
project. The individual must be professional and motivated to assist
the Marketing & Business Development department with research to build a contact list for a local practice group. Individual will gain
exposure to a professional setting, library services and business
development initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a desire to
learn about law firms. The candidate should also be detail-oriented,
able to take direction and work well independently.


Required Qualifications:
     Strong Microsoft Office skills
     Excellent research and internet skills
     Familiarity with Hoovers preferred

Law Library and knowledge management - Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto



The New York office of FITZPATRICK, CELLA, HARPER & SCINTO has opportunity for internship in the law library and knowledge management center this Fall semester of  2011.  You will be directed by Jeff Cohan, past president of the Law Library Association of Greater New York (2008-2009.) 
The intern will learn and apply the following skills to support some or all of our ongoing projects: competitive intelligence research; intranet web redesign; knowledge management of legal workproduct and business analytics; and library administration.   You will work with  these resources: Lexis Atvantage, Thomson Innovation, web provided government information sources, Sharepoint, WestKM, Salesforce.com, and Microsoft Excel. 
The internship is non-paid and for school credit only.  The ideal student will be in the final year of study for the Masters of Library/Information Science and have some additional background in law and/or business.  Please make sure your school has a program to provide credit for interning.   
In the past, LIU Palmer, Queens College, Rutgers, and St Johns have awarded credit for interning with our firm.   
Applications are due  Thurs Sept 15 1 for the Fall semester.

Integreon - corporate & business research - 4 positions

Integreon Managed Solutions is a privately held global outsourcing firm that partners with some of the world’s largest investment banks and law firms to provide a wide range of services, including library and business research support.
 
Our client, a global investment bank in New York City, is seeking  four (4) interns to perform corporate and business research as part of their Library & Information Services team.
 
  •   The positions are part time, 20 hours per week - flexible working hours
  •   Some weekend coverage will be required
  •   We are seeking a commitment of at least one year
 
ROLE SUMMARY
 
Information Specialist
This is a research position for an individual who is enrolled in an MLS program. The individual in this position will be answering research requests from our clients. Knowledge of the financial markets and investment banking is a plus. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answering client information requests by providing accurate information efficiently and in a  cost-effective manner
  • Develop successful working relationships with front office employees / professionals and business units on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate confidently and effectively with demanding users, seeking senior management assistance when appropriate 
  • Work effectively with industry experts to extract opinions, projections and/or unreleased data to provide complete and competitive response to information inquiries
  • Ability to analyze information in corporate finance, specific market, industry or product areas to determine what aspects are to be answered with print sources, through outside expert opinion or via online data
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  •  You must be currently enrolled in a MLS program
  •  Excellent computer skills
  •  Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills
  •  Database experience preferred 
  •  Able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
