P/T - Children's Services Internship - Rye Free Reading Room (Rye, NY)
The Rye Free Reading Room in Rye, NY is seeking a qualified graduate student for an exciting internship position during summer 2015. The library is currently accepting applications for an internship in the Children’s Services Department. The intern will have the chance to gain a wide range of experiences in a busy public library while serving the pre-K through grade 5 population. The intern will work closely with the Children’s Services Manager assisting with tasks including but not limited to: reference services, readers advisory, community and media outreach, and assisting with the implementation and supervision of the library’s many children’s programs, and summer reading program registration.
Qualifications:
• Enrollment in MLS/MSIS program
• Outstanding communication, project management, and customer service skills
• Interest in children’s services and literature
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
• Ability to accomplish multiple tasks on a number of concurrent projects
• Outstanding communication, project management, and customer service skills
Hours & Details: Dates and times of internship will be determined with the individual. Afternoon, evening and Saturday availability is necessary. This is an unpaid internship but a great opportunity to receive school credit and build your resume.
