Inform Technologies Internship

Categorization Intern (1-2 positions)

Spring 2008

Inform Technologies seeks detail-oriented individuals with interests in current events for ongoing research projects. Interns will work closely with the categorization team to monitor quality of our categorization and research various news topics. Interns will learn about automated categorization of news content in a client-focused startup environment.


Strong online research skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within the team environment are crucial. Applicants should also have an interest in news media and current events.

Qualifications:

  • An interest in linguistics, library and information science, information architecture, computer science, indexing, cataloging, copyediting, journalism, or history is advantageous.
  • Graduate and undergraduate students will be considered.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, and the ability to learn proprietary software are essential.

Interns should be available 2-3 days per week during regular business hours. Interns are needed starting in early January for ongoing projects. Internships are designed to last 12-15 weeks, or the length of the spring semester. Interns are paid a daily stipend.
