May Kean Raynolds Graduate Museum Studies Fellowship, Liberty Hall Museum (Union, NJ)

Liberty Hall Museum, in Union, NJ, is seeking applicants for its May Kean Raynolds Graduate Museum Studies Fellowship. The fellowship is offered to graduate students in a master’s program in Museum Studies, History, or a related field.

The fellowship is designed to provide a mentored professional development opportunity to graduate students seeking careers within a museum setting. Fellowships are tailored to the student’s individual educational goals and provide opportunities to explore multiple areas of museum work while gaining specialized skills and experience. Projects may include designing, developing, and delivering innovative programming for diverse audiences, as well as collections management, exhibit development, and marketing design and implementation, based on the fellow’s interests.

Fellows will work approximately 30 hours per week during the 13-week fellowship. Work hours are flexible and will be scheduled during museum operating hours. The fellowship will commence in June 2026 and conclude in August 2026. The museum is easily accessible by New Jersey Transit trains on the Raritan Valley line and New Jersey Transit bus lines.

Gagosian Summer Internship (Chelsea)

Internship Program - New York (Summer, 2026)

Gagosian is accepting applications for its Summer Internship Program in New York!

Gagosian is a leading global art gallery that represents and exhibits some of the most important contemporary artists. Our internship program offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and work closely with talented professionals in the art industry, while also participating in team projects with key members of Gagosian staff and artists. As an intern, you will be an integral part of the gallery’s daily operations and contribute to our mission of promoting and shaping contemporary art.

In our internship program, you will work closely with a delegated department while supporting general gallery operations, gaining valuable experience, and cultivating lasting relationships. We are looking for applicants with a strong interest in art, who can work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, prioritize, and possess excellent communication skills.

Duties include but are not limited to


– Contributing to meaningful projects and recurring tasks within your designated department.
– Assisting gallery staff with daily operations, supporting colleagues across sales, artist liaison, research, and events.
– Providing support to Gallery Assistant team with visitor inquiries and essential administrative tasks (including mail distribution, publication and stock management, organizing shared spaces, maintaining inventory, preparing offices for client meetings, expenses, etc.).
– Participating in gallery openings and events.Supporting ad hoc projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

– Current 3rd or 4th year undergraduates, recent graduates, or postgraduate students with degrees in Art History or related fields.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– A strong desire to pursue a career in the art world.
– Flexibility, attention to detail, and a desire to learn are essential.
– Prior museum, auction house, or gallery experience is preferable.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.

Position Type

– 10am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, with additional hours for openings and events.
– Full-time and part-time positions available.
– 100% in person, at one of our New York galleries.
– The internship program will run from June 2nd - August 28th, 2026.

Compensation

A rate of $18 per hour.

Legal Defense Fund Archives Internship, NAACP (Financial District)

The Legal Defense Fund (LDF) is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Using the power of law, narrative, research, and people, we defend and advance the full dignity and citizenship of Black people in America. The Thurgood Marshall Institute is a multidisciplinary center within LDF that complements the organization’s traditional litigation, strengthening it through innovative research and publications, targeted advocacy, and public education campaigns.

Housed within the Thurgood Marshall Institute, the Archives and Records Department serves three major functions: building and managing an archival repository of LDF’s historic records, providing library services including research support, and coordinating the process by which records become part of the LDF Archives. LDF is undertaking a major effort to organize, preserve, and digitize a substantial portion of our 8,000 boxes of rich historical case files and institutional records.

LDF Archives Internship:

LDF is seeking a current or recent graduate student in Library and Information Studies for a Summer 2026 Archives Internship. Working closely with LDF archivists, the Archives Intern will work on a variety of projects including but not limited to research and review of oral history interviews for the LDF Oral History Project, responding to staff and internal research requests, and surveying, arranging, and describing physical and digital records related to the ongoing fight for racial justice. This is a paid internship, at a rate of $20/hr, for a minimum of 120 hours over one semester. This internship will be a great fit for a collaborative and detail-oriented student interested in legal history and archival program development at a dynamic nonprofit organization. In order to be considered for this role, please submit a cover letter and resume.

Work schedule: Interns are required to be onsite at LDF NYC Office on Tuesdays or Thursdays

 Qualifications:

  • Current or recent Master of Science in Library and Information Studies student with a specialization in archives;
  • Understanding of basic principles of archival appraisal, arrangement, and description.
  • Strong project management skills; and
  • Commitment to the racial justice mission of LDF.

Research Fellowship, Rye Historical Society (Rye)

The Rye Research Fellowship is an unpaid, mentored professional development opportunity designed for students seeking meaningful experience in archival research, public policy, and museum practice. Fellows work closely with the Rye Historical Society leadership and gain direct access to primary source materials, contributing to research initiatives, collections projects, and interpretive programming.

Selection Committee

Applications for fellowships are screened and chosen by a Selection Committee comprised of experts in various fields, but all with extensive historical experience. Summer Fellowship applications will be evaluated in two rounds. Finalists will be announced in April. Winter Fellowship applications will be announced by the middle of November.
