The Landmarks Preservation Commission is the New York City agency that is responsible for designating and regulating the city's landmarks and historic districts. These properties have special historic, architectural, cultural, and/or aesthetic significance as part of the heritage of the city, state or nation. 

Description: The research department historic district summer intern will take on special projects related to a proposed historic district. Tasks will include the compilation of architectural appendices, research of historic photos, creation of research files, scanning of tax photos, building, map, image, people and institutions research at various archives, and other general administrative duties. 

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with good communication skills, will have strong interest in architectural, cultural, social and New York City history, have relevant research experience, and be able to work independently. Hours: 35 hours per week for an eight-week period.
