The McGraw-Hill Companies has an Archivist/Researcher internship opportunity that will allow the successful graduate library school candidate an opportunity to conduct research and gain practical experience in records and archival management. We are looking for an energetic, team oriented student to participate as a key member of our Marketing department for an 8 - 10 week assignment.
This is a 10 - 15 hours per week paid internship in New York City. Only local candidates need apply.

Role: The intern, working under the supervision of a professional librarian, will perform various research and records management tasks, including but not limited to:
- Cataloging of archival documents using the established record group schema.
- Scanning corporate memoranda into PDFs and applying appropriate meta tags.
- Inventorying the archives collection of audio and visual materials.
- Scope the existing archival collection to identify missing materials and locate replacements.
- Fact checking and proofing all historical content on the McGraw-Hill Corporate Archives Intranet site.
- Conducting basic research using Nexis, Capital IQ, S&P Net Advantage and other online research tools.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be enrolled at an ALA Accredited Library School
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop
- Background in building or editing with web sites preferred but not required
