F/T - UX Designer Summer Internship Opportunities 2015 - Fidelity Investments (NJ)

The User Experience Design team is responsible for designing Fidelity Investments’  websites, mobile applications and internal workstations. Our 200+ person team of elite user experience professionals works collaboratively with the business and technology teams to design and deliver online experiences that enable our customers’ financial success.  We have Summer internship roles available in Jersey City, NJ.

 
Primary Responsibilities 
  • We are currently looking for summer interns interested in user experience to join our fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture. The 10-week program is a hands-on learning experience with opportunities to work on a team design project and gain exposure to the day-to-day business of the User Experience Design group.
  • There will be weekly training sessions focused on the roles and skills within User Experience Design.  All Fidelity interns across the organization participate in Summer Series events designed to showcase Fidelity’s various businesses and hear from Fidelity Executives. 
Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate students in a related field, such as Interactive Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Library Science or Human Factors a plus

Skills and Knowledge
  • Creativity, imagination and a sense of humor
  • Strong work ethic and collaborative spirit are a must
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about interaction design and user research
  • Detail-oriented and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines  
  • Ability to understand customer needs, motivations and behaviors
  • Hands-on design skills in wireframes, persona development and visual design, a plus
  • Skills in Fireworks, Photoshop and Illustrator image creation, a plus
  • Understanding of HTML and CSS with the basics in HTML5  
  • Online Portfolio required
Program Dates and Hours
  • 10-week program beginning approximately Monday, June 1st, and ending on Friday, August 7th.  Full-time, 40-hour work week
